Uganda Imposing Social Media Tax, Apple Adding ..

Google may not be excelling in the tablet market, however what it is excelling at is making news reports look bad. The section of the Google store that was responsible for tablets disappeared yesterday and the world didn’t care much. Android tablets are not relevant, let alone sell-able. Today, the section is back with a tweet by Hiroshi Lockheimer. In the spirit of saving eyes and improving design, Cupertino is looking at a dark mode for its desktop operating system. I’m a huge fan of the idea of dark mode and I hope other operating systems say “me too! The Oppo Find series is coming back! Back in 2014, Oppo released the last of its phones I cared about. It was called the Find 7 and it was basically a more feature-filled OnePlus One. The Find series of Oppo phones brought a lot of innovation to the market and while it still didn’t really disrupt the market like OnePlus did, they still made a good splash. Oppo teased the Find X recently and so far, we know that it’s going to have an iPhone-esk notch. It may also have the 5x dual camera zoom that they were advertising years ago. With an intention of paying off debts and reducing olugambo (gossip), the country is to impose a tax of 200 shillings on every day one uses social media. 200 shillings translate to about 50 cents. Not really that high of a number, but it’s still ridiculous that one has to pay to use a service they can use for free anywhere else. I think this is an outrageous move on the government’s part and they really need to get their heads straight.

what is social about social media9. Mick on April 29th, 2011 6:43 pm Hi Larry - great site. I was wondering if you can get addicted to social networking! I do a bit of Twittering but that is about all. Do you think you should stick to one or two social networks or try and make a larger web presence? 10. Larry Brauner on April 30th, 2011 8:45 pm In general, Mick, I recommend building a large web presence. 11. Steve Allenby on May 5th, 2011 10:17 am In response to Mick, I think that these days sticking to the main social networks and really gaining a foothold would be preferable and probably more attainable. I find myself only using Twitter and Facebook these days as the audience is quite frankly massive. If I spent time on other networks I feel it would just dilute my efforts. 12. batman legos on May 9th, 2011 1:20 pm This is an awesome list you have compiled. Perfect for outsourcing to an SEO assistant over seas. I have never been quite convinced about marketing in the social arena.
